The ULB Community volunteering days!
“Les Journées de l’Engagement’ are 3 days where the ULB community (students, academics, alumni and members of staff) are invited to volunteer in non-profit organisations. For half a day or a whole day, participants can contribute to the daily life of these committed organisations, who open their doors to them. This event is a first in the Belgian university world. The ULB allows its employees to take part in this activity during their working hours.
The activities on offer are varied: cooking, gardening, sorting and tidying, painting, DIY, helping in an animal shelter, and more. There’s something for everyone!
The next volunteering days will be held from Tuesday 25 to Thursday 27 March 2025.
Next registrations will open in January 2025.
The goal of this event is multiple: to mobilise the ULB community by encouraging them to discover Brussels’ non-profit organisations, and to strengthen the links between members of the ULB community. All this while having a positive social impact on the city! A unique opportunity to combine civic engagement with teambuilding moment between members of the community.
The benefits of the Journées de l’Engagement include:
- Discovery of civic commitment and non-profit organisations;
- Development of a large-scale solidarity dynamic;
- Creation of links within the ULB community.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
A dedicated platform, created in collaboration with our partner Give a Day, is available to organisations and volunteers. This tool will enable organisations to suggest volunteering missions, and volunteers can sign up for the mission that suits them best.
