Does the topic of migration interest you? Do you want to invest in a meaningful project, develop new skills, and meet new people at your university as well as in the nonprofit and educational sector? Then, take part in Migration au-delà des préjugés as a volunteer!
Your role? To animate the different modules in schools and youth centres in Brussels and Wallonia, deconstructing prejudices about migration and encouraging young people to get involved as citizens.
How ? The team will first train you, and then we’ll accompany you in the field to help you develop your skills. The project also gives you the opportunity to continue training throughout your voluntary work, as well as getting involved in other areas such as creating new teaching tools, taking part in various events and training your peers (the volunteers).
Training weekend
Our residential training weekend for future volunteers takes place once a year, at the beginning of February.
The aims of this training are to:
- Introduce the project, how it works and its values;
- Introduce the central theoretical information for five leadership modules;
- Introduce active teaching methods;
- To allow participants to practise their facilitation skills;
- Start thinking about volunteering within the project;
- Create links and a strong sense of group cohesion.
Would you like to take part in the residential training weekend and become a volunteer ?
Fill in this short form to be contacted when registration opens.
Please note that this training is only given in french.
What do I get out of volunteering?
Volunteering mobilizes you to address a modern issue according to your availability and means. It also develops new skills: training in specific techniques, being an animator, teamwork, and public speaking. Your engagement supports and benefits something greater.
